Microsoft Licensing
A range of Microsoft software licenses can be rented with your dedicated servers. Xtraordinary is a Microsoft Certified Partner and licenses are provided under the Microsoft Service Providers License Agreement (SPLA).

Notes
- Windows dedicated servers come with Windows 2003 Standard Edition (unauthenticated) license as standard.
- Above licenses are available priced on the number of physical processors in the server (the number of processor cores is not relevant)
- With processor based licensing an unlimited number of users may access the software.
- If Windows authentication is required then either a Windows 2003 Server authenticated processor license should be rented or individual SALs (see below) should be rented for each user.

SAL Notes
- A SAL is a Subscriber Access License and is required for each individual user who accesses the application.
- SALs are not available on a "per seat" or "number of simultaneous users" basis, a SAL must be purchased for any user who has a login for the software application
- If Windows authentication is required then either a Windows 2003 Server authenticated processor license should be rented (see section above) or individual SALs (see pricing in table immediately above) should be rented for each user.
- If the client has multiple physical or virtual servers hosted with Xtraordinary then only a single Windows SAL for any individual user is required to permit authenticated access for that person on any of the hosted servers.
Licensing Notes
- The above licensing is provided by Xtraordinary under the Microsoft Service Provider Licensing Agreement (SPLA)
- SPLA licensing is available on a month to month rental basis
- SPLA licensing is only available on physical and virtual dedicate servers. It is not available on equipment owned by the customer (e.g. co-location services)
